Since JPMorgan Chase has acquired Washington Mutual, this credit card offer might not be available under this name for much longer. If you already have this credit card, I wouldn’t be too worried about the bank closing the account. For the most part the credit card will still exist as long as you keep the account active. Many banks are also canceling accounts if you don’t remain active, so be sure to make a purchase on this card every couple of months to keep it open. If it is inactive for over a year than chances are it will be closed. If you pay off your credit card every month, I would recommend that you go ahead and get a rewards card with a slightly higher interest rate, since you’ll be paying it off anyways, why not enjoy the perks?

Washington Mutual currently offers one credit card, and that would be the WaMu Platinum MasterCard. This card has no special membership rewards program, however it does come with a very low interest rate. So if you don’t like to spend that much on your credit card, but you still need one to use online, this would work out great.

Who This Card is for
This card is for people that would like a low interest rate credit card and aren’t too worried about a rewards program. The approval time is quick; some people who have filled out the application were approved right away. You will be hard pressed to find one with a lower interest rate than the Washington Mutual Platinum MasterCard.

This is a pretty good credit card, but it might be difficult to get approved for. Since the interest rate is so low, they recommend that only people with a credit score of 700 or higher apply, if your credit score isn’t that high you are free to apply, but you might not be approved. Make sure you take it into account, that if you apply to too many credit card companies in a short period of time, you could lower your credit score. So be sure that if you do apply, and you don’t think you’ll get accepted, you only apply to one other company or so.
