Southwest Airline Credit Card

Review

The Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards credit card from Chase became available on March 1st 2011. It's JP Morgan Chase's answer to the Capital One Venture card that was released in fall of the previous year.

It seems like every credit card has it’s own special reward program title. This one is called Rapid Rewards. After you become a card member and make a purchase you will be able to pick two free flights.

Companion Pass Status is a nice perk you can gain for being a cardholder. This status lets you pick one person who will fly with you for free. You can receive this after one hundred flights or gathering 110,000 points in a year.

There is a small caveat regarding the expiration of points. If you don’t use your card at all for two years you will lose them.

You will need an excellent credit rating to be approved for the Premier card but the Plus card has a much wider approval rate. I recommend the Southwest card to people who like to fly with them often, and who want a card they can accumulate points on every purchase.
