Many people who take their cars to Goodyear, and receive a large car repair bill opt for their credit card with its' promotional offer of no interest for six months. This might sound enticing at first, but you should always read the fine print before signing any financial agreement. Goodyear's card really pushes this point home.
One of the most glaring faults with this card is the APR. At 28.99% this is one of the highest interest rates for a credit card we've seen. In order to receive the promotion you must pay off the entire balance before the six months is up, if you fail, you will receive interest on the purchase from the day it was bought. Plus if you are late for one payment you will face punishing late fees and interest rate hikes.
This card can only be used at Goodyear and affiliated stores; you can't use it anywhere else. After reading many user reviews it becomes clear that Citibank doesn’t have the best customer service. People are complaining that bills are sent to the wrong address, and payments aren't posted in a timely manner.
We don’t recommend the Goodyear credit card. If you want to avoid paying a high interest rate on a car repair we suggest you apply for a small loan from your bank.
