It’s important to note that the Firestone credit card is only accepted at their locations., so you can't use this card anywhere else. It has a higher than average annual interest rate of 22.8%. But this card has a few redeeming qualities.

Skip-payment option
While I was reading through the credit card agreement I noticed they allow you to skip a payment as an option for one month. Basically, it's a onetime free pass without penalty to skip a payment. You may not use this feature to lengthen any promotional offers. Not every card comes with this, but it’s a minor perk you can put in its favor.

No Interest for Six Months
This deal is valid from July 2011 till the last day of December 2011, and only applies for purchases over $249 if paid in full before 6 months is over. You must also make the minimum payment amount for each billing cycle or you will forfeit this deal, and be charged interest from the first cycle you made the purchase and on.

Please if you do take this offer make sure you follow the instructions and make at least the monthly minimum payment on time. Do not have a late payment this might also cause CFNA to void the offer and charge you interest plus late payment fees, which can mean up to $35 for each late month.

The Firestone card doesn’t come with any kind of rewards program. But they will periodically mail you coupons and announcements of promotional periods of no interest if you spend over a specified amount.

Many of the tire store/car repair businesses have their own line of credit options. One big competitor of Firestone is Goodyear, and I must say the Goodyear credit card is much worse than this with it’s extremely high interest rate of 28.99% one of the highest I’ve seen from these types of car service shops. If you really like taking your car to Firestone and are a frequent customer I suggest applying for this card just for the coupons alone. Otherwise you will receive better benefits from a cash reward card and a lower interest rate.
