The Pass card is American Express's answer to the Visa Buxx. They are both prepaid cards that are designed for parents to control and monitor how much their children spend.
One drawback of these types of cards is the fees. It carries a monthly membership fee that is taken from the account's balance. You will also see a large fee from ATMs with a minimum of $1.50 for each withdrawal plus an additional fee from the ATM.
They are offering a twenty-five dollar bonus to new customers. They are only valid during promotional periods.
I would recommend the Visa Buxx card over the Pass. They are really the same card and have close to identical features and discounts. The one thing that Visa has over American Express is it's accepted at more places, although this isn't as pronounced as it once was.
